THE FOUNDATION HAS TURNED TO THE PUBLIC WITH AN URGENT PLEA: DON’T TURN A BLIND EYE TO CHILD ABUSE!
The mission of the Our Child Foundation is to protect children against physical and psychological abuse. The foundation strives to prevent the occurrence of violence against children and to raise the level of public awareness of this issue among adults. After all, adults are those who should provide children a safe and free life filled with love and understanding.
The Our Child Foundation established a toll-free nationwide Safety Hotline in 1994 for the protection of threatened children. The line is available to all children in need of help. If they have been a witness to or know of a crime committed against children adults can use this hotline or the Legal Aid Hotline to inform the police or the Department of Child Care.
The Our Child Foundation has introduced its “Red Card for Child Abuse” campaign as part of its efforts to protect children. The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness among the general public regarding the various forms of psychological and physical abuse children face in the Czech Republic, including the commercial exploitation of children, child pornography, prostitution, and child trafficking. The overall aim of the campaign is to reduce the number of
children suffering from these forms of abuse in the country.
